Power

We provide top-tier legal expertise in the power sector, including retail distribution, market regulation and energy networks. The Head Partner of the Energy Practice, Theodossis Tompras, has actively participated in the energy markets liberalization process that was completed with Law 4001/2011 on the Operation of Electricity and Gas Energy Markets, for Exploration, Production and Transmission Networks of Hydrocarbons. We advise on all aspects of operating (retail/wholesale side), trading and marketing, disputes resolution, regulation and market reform, competition/antitrust issues, environmental issues, as well as project development (including construction aspects) and project finance within the power sector.

We have a profound understanding and insight in relation to the developments in relation Energy Tax matters at EU level, including the Energy Tax Directive reform and Carbon Tax initiatives affecting the Emission Trading System (ETS) and the upcoming Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), while we close monitor the reform the European Commission’s Green Deal will bring to these matters.
