Taxation
- The Governor of IAPR issued Decision no 1196/2019 for the determination of specific issues and details on the implementation of the arrears settlement at Tax Administration (articles 98-109 Law 4611/2019).
- IAPR published Circular 2080/2019 providing guidance on the implementation of article 24 par.1 b of Income Tax Code with regards to the depreciation in leasing cases.
- IAPR published Circular 2075/2019 notifying Council’s of the State opinion no. 40/2019 with regards to the income tax returns of individuals and legal entities subject to a special administration regime.
- IAPR issued a guide addressing the most common questions concerning intra-group dividends.
- IAPR published Circular 2088/2019 which supplements Circular 1039/2019, clarifying that business expenses related to the participation of the taxpayer in another legal entity are not deductible as a whole.
Labor & Social Security
- Law 4611/2019 on “Settlement of amounts due to the Social Security Funds, Tax Administration and 1st degree municipal authorities – Public Sector Pension Regulations and other social security and pension regulations – Improvement of the employees’ protection and other provisions” was published in the Government Gazette, including important employment provisions.
Cyber Security
- Council Regulation 2019/796 (EU) 2019/796 of 17 May 2019 concerning restrictive measures against cyber-attacks threatening the Union or its Member States was published in the Official Journal of the European Union.
Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism
- IAPR published FATF’s public Statement regarding countries with significant deficiencies in combating Anti-Money Laundering and the Financing of Terrorism.
- Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/758, supplementing Directive (EU) 2015/849 of the European Parliament and of the Council, with regard to regulatory technical standards for the minimum action and the type of additional measures credit and financial institutions must take to mitigate Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Risk in certain third countries, was published in the Official Journal of the European Union.
Automatic Exchange of Information
- The Governor of IAPR published Decision 1160/2019 amending Decision no 1135/2017 with regards to the determination of the Jurisdictions’ catalogue of the Competent Authorities’ Multilateral Agreement on Automatic Exchange of Financial Information.
- The Governor of IAPR published Decision 1204/2019 amending Decision no 1130/2017 with regards to the determination of the competent IAPR’s Authorities and the specification of the obligations of the Reporting Greek Financial Institutions regarding the time and the way of submission of the information implementing the Common Reporting Standard for Automatic Exchange of Information.
Personal Data
- Hellenic DPA issued Decision no 74/2018 by which it accepted the applicant’s request and ordered Google to satisfy her request to remove a link from the search results based on her name (right to be forgotten).
Other Developments
- The Council of the State issued no 91/2019 Opinion with regards to the administrative sanctions on illicit trafficking.
- Common Ministerial Decision no. 48652/2019 on the interconnection of the General Commercial Registry (GEMI) with the Insolvency Registry of the Court Cases Management System was published in the Government Gazette.
- Directive (EU) 2019/790 (ΕΕ) of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 April 2019 on copyright and related rights in the Digital Single Market and amending Directives 96/9/ΕC και 2001/29/ΕC, was published in the Official Journal of the European Union.
